Secretary-General saddened by deadly air crash on eve of his Iran visit

The Secretary-General was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of passengers in a plane crash in Mashhad, Iran.

United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Beirut on Monday, 28 August, where he was greeted at the airport by Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh.
