United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Mark Bowden of the United Kingdom as his Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan. Mr. Bowden will also serve as Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.
Homi Kharas, a national of Pakistan was appointed today as Lead Author and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Secretary-General’s High-level Panel on the global development agenda beyond 2015, which is co-chaired by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia and Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom.
