The Secretary-General welcomes the progress made in the peace talks on the conflict in the Sudan, which have been taking place in Machakos, Kenya, under the auspices of the Sudan Peace Committee of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

VIOLATIONS OF SOMALIA ARMS EMBARGO


The Security Council recommended today that a three-member panel of experts be set up to gather information on violations of the 1992 arms embargo on Somalia, with a view to strengthening it.
