House Demolitions in Rafah Resume

GAZA, 20 May (UNRWA) -- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is extremely concerned at concurring independent eye witness reports just received that the Israel Defence Forces have started to demolish houses in Rafah with their inhabitants still inside and prevented from exiting the buildings.

NGO COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS CONSULTATIVE STATUS WITH ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL

During two meetings today, the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) recommended consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for six NGOs and deferred action on the applications of six others.
