NEW YORK, 22 June -- More than 400 Chief Executive Officers and representatives of international civil society will discuss a range of issues key to corporate leadership and responsibility at a meeting called by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, to take place at United Nations Headquarters on 24 June.

NAIROBI/BANGKOK, 21 June (UNEP) -- The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) today announced a 1-million euro per annum partnership with German-based chemicals and health-care company Bayer AG to support its global long-term strategy to involve young people in environmental issues.

Secretary-General appoints jan pronk special representative for sudan


The Secretary-General has decided to appoint Jan Pronk as his Special Representative for the Sudan and head of the peace support operation that may be authorized following a Comprehensive Peace Agreement between the Government of the Sudan and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army.  The appointment is effective 18 June 2004.
