Following is the press statement on Afghanistan delivered today by Security Council President Lauro Baja (Philippines):

Members of the Security Council condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack that took place in Jalaouk, Afghanistan, on 10 June 2004, in which 11 Chinese construction workers were killed and some others were injured.

Food and Agriculture Organization says Europe nearly free from foot-and-mouth

disease, but risks remain, countries must stay vigilant
