The United Nations Department of Public Information will partner with the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance New York to examine the issues that led to mass murder during the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia and current efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. Organized by The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme, the round table discussion will take place on Wednesday, 30 May, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Museum.

The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People will convene the United Nations International Meeting on the Question of Palestine on 30 and 31 May at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, in Paris. The theme of the Meeting is “The role of youth and women in the peaceful resolution of the question of Palestine”.

In May 2012, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, through its Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC) provided a set of small arms destruction equipment to Jamaica and trained national officers on the use of the equipment. These activities aim to strengthen the capacity of Jamaica to combat the illicit trafficking in small arms and light weapons nationally, as well as in the Caribbean region.
