Tadjikistan Proposes Global Observance to Combat Water Pollution
Syria's Foreign Minister, Farouk Al-Shara, told the General Assembly this morning that the Israeli Foreign Minister had carried the flag of the culture of peace in his statement yesterday, while fully ignoring the fact that the Israeli occupation was the main reason for the absence of peace.
CORRECTION
In Press Release GA/9614-ENV/DEV/524 issued on 28 September, in the fourth paragraph on page 5, the speaker should read:

"Rwanda demonstrates what Kosovo might have become, had we not intervened in 1999 and Kosovo demonstrates what Rwanda might have been, had we intervened in 1994", Bronislaw Geremek, the Foreign Minister of Poland, told the General Assembly this afternoon as it continued its general debate.
The Sixth Committee (Legal), at an organizational meeting this morning, elected its Vice-Chairmen and Rapporteur, and adopted a programme of work for the current session of the General Assembly.
