The new Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the United Nations, Pascale Baeriswyl, paid a courtesy call on UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Alice Wairimu Nderitu of Kenya as Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide.  She succeeds Adama Dieng of Senegal, to whom the Secretary-General has expressed deep gratitude for his dedicated leadership and achievements.  The Secretary-General also wishes to extend his appreciation to Navamanee Ratna (Pramila) Patten, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, who has been serving as Acting Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide.

The new Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Magzhan Ilyassov, presented his credentials to the Secretariat today.

The new Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, Kyaw Moe Tun, presented his credentials to the Secretariat today.

On 2 October, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Coulibaly Siaka of Côte d’Ivoire as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Senegal, with the host Government’s approval.

The new Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations, José A. Blanco Conde, presented his credentials to the Secretariat today.

On 15 October, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Issa Sanogo of Cote d’Ivoire as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Madagascar, with the host Government’s approval.

On 1 October, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Valerie Julliand of France as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Indonesia, with the host Government’s approval.

The new Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, presented his credentials to the Secretariat today.

The new Permanent Representative of Guyana to the United Nations, Carolyn Rodrigues Birkett, presented her credentials to the Secretariat today.
