Economic and Social Council Begins Management Segment with Adoption of Several Draft Resolutions, Decisions Recommended by Its Subsidiary Bodies

The Economic and Social Council began its two-day management segment today, discussing the reports of several of its subsidiary bodies and adopting draft resolutions and decisions contained in the reports.
Today’s themes include: crime prevention and criminal justice; science and technology for development; population and development; United Nations Forum on Forests; international cooperation in tax matters; public administration and development; Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues; non-governmental organizations; prevention and control of non-communicable diseases; review and coordination of the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries; operational activities of the United Nations for international development cooperation; long-term programme of support for Haiti; African countries emerging from conflict; sustainable development in the Sahel; reports of coordination bodies; and the proposed programme budget for 2025.
