Continuing Operational Activities Segment, Economic and Social Council Hears from Executive Heads of United Nations Development System

(Note:  Due to the financial liquidity crisis affecting the United Nations and the resulting constraints, this meeting was not covered.)

The Economic and Social Council today continued its segment on operational activities for development, holding discussions with executive heads of the United Nations development system.  Under consideration were also the reports of the Executive Boards of the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Population Fund and United Nations Office for Project Services (document E/2023/35); the United Nations Children’s Fund (document E/2023/34/Rev.1); the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women; and the World Food Programme (document E/2023/36).
