Economic and Social Council Fills Vice-President Vacancy, Electing by Acclamation Representative from Latin American and Caribbean States

The Economic and Social Council met this morning to elect a Vice-President of the Council from the Latin American and Caribbean States.

Endorsed by that bloc and in the absence of any other nomination, Héctor Alejandro Palma Cerna (Honduras) was elected by acclamation to the post of Vice-President of the Council for the remainder of the 2016 session.

The Economic and Social Council will reconvene at a date and time to be announced.
