United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Nikolas Myint of Germany as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Malaysia, with the host Government’s approval. He will have additional responsibility for programme matters in Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. His appointment is effective as of 31 May.

Today marks three years since the death of former Secretary-General Kofi Annan. As the current Secretary-General said, Kofi was one-of-a-kind, a man who embodied United Nations values. Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed said that, on this day three years ago, the world lost one of its moral voices.
The Secretary-General strongly condemns the horrific terrorist attack in Manchester last night, and expresses his profound sympathy and solidarity with the people and Government of the United Kingdom. He hopes that those responsible for this despicable attack will be swiftly found and brought to justice.
