Resolution 1277 (1999) Asks Secretary-General to Coordinate Change of Mode

The Security Council this afternoon decided to continue the United Nations Civilian Police Mission in Haiti (MIPONUH) in order to ensure a phased transition to an International Civilian Support Mission in Haiti (MICAH) by 15 March 2000.

SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS IRAQ 'OIL-FOR-FOOD' PROGRAMME UNTIL 4 DECEMBER

Resolution 1275 (1999) Adopted Unanimously

Acting under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, the Security Council this afternoon extended the programme of humanitarian assistance to Iraq known as “oil for food” until 4 December. The programme allows Iraq to sell oil to purchase humanitarian goods for the Iraqi people.
