NEW YORK, 15 March (Office of Information and Communications Technology) — The United Nations announced today that Abdulqadir Rashik has won the Unite Ideas #LinksSDGs Data Visualization Challenge.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Deborah Seward of the United States as Director of the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) in Brussels.  She assumes her duties on 14 March.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Lynn St. Amour of the United States as the new Chair of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group of the Internet Governance Forum.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Hélène Papper of France as Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Bogota, which serves Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.  Ms. Papper assumes her duties today.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today designated the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra as a United Nations Global Advocate for Cultural Understanding.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Tamar Hahn of Israel Director of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Buenos Aires, which serves Argentina and Uruguay.  She assumes her duties on 10 February.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Maria Dotsenko of Ukraine as Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Tehran, Iran.  Ms. Dotsenko assumes her duties on 15 January.

The United Nations today released the sixty-fifth volume of the Yearbook of the United Nations, covering the Organization’s global activities in 2011.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Vladimir Kuznetsov of the Russian Federation as Director of the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Moscow, Russian Federation.  Mr. Kuznetsov assumed his duties today.
