The Secretary-General is pleased to announce the establishment of a High‑Level Advisory Board on Mediation to provide him with advice on mediation initiatives and back specific mediation efforts around the world. The Board is composed of 18 current and former global leaders, senior officials and renowned experts who bring together an unparalleled range of experience, skills, knowledge and contacts.
On 12 September 2017, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al‑Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities removed the name below from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List.
On 8 September 2017, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1591 (2005) concerning the Sudan was briefed by the Coordinator and two members of the Panel of Experts on the Sudan in connection with the Panel’s first report, which was submitted in accordance with paragraph 2 of resolution 2340 (2017).
