The Secretary-General arrived in Warsaw, Poland, on Thursday, 9 November, at 2:30 p.m. local time. He was met at the airport by Minister in the Presidency Chancellory Andrzeg Ananicz and Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eugeniosz Wyzner.
The General Assembly would urge that negotiations be pursued on a treaty on democratic security in Central America by the terms of a draft resolution on the situation in that region which was introduced this morning.

The special difficulties faced by host countries of refugees and displaced persons were highlighted by speakers this morning as the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural) continued its consideration of issues relating to refugees and internally displaced persons.
The Security Council this evening, concerned by continued reports of grave human rights violations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, condemned in the strongest possible terms all such violations.
