UNITED STATES ANNOUNCES $1.7 BILLION IN REFUGEE RELIEF FOR COMING YEAR AS COUNCIL DEBATES ECONOMIC, HUMANITARIAN, DISASTER AID

The United States Government has allocated $1.7 billion over the coming year for refugees, the representative of that country told the Economic and Social Council this morning as it began its general discussion of special economic, humanitarian and disaster relief assistance.
