In accordance with established practice, the Secretary-General Monday, 24 July, drew lots for the purpose of choosing the Member State to occupy the first desk on the General Assembly floor from which the alphabetical seating order will begin. The name drawn was Antigua and Barbuda.
The Committee on Relations with the Host Country met this afternoon to discuss a number of issues, including host country travel regulations.

The Security Council this afternoon decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) for a further three months until 31 October.
Secretary-General Kofi Annan has appointed Hannah Yilma as the Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Pretoria, South Africa. She is expected to take up her duties on 25 July.
GENEVA, 25 July (OCHA) -- The United Nations 2000 World Disaster Reduction Campaign, developed by the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR), will be conducted world wide from August to October 2000 around the theme of the mobilization of youth towards a global culture of prevention, through appropriate education.
