Developing countries’ difficult situation, which exacerbated the situation of older people there, was particularly true for countries trapped in cycles of violent conflict, the Vice-Minister for Social Assistance of Angola, Maria Da Luz, told the Second World Assembly on Ageing this afternoon.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan departed New York on 6 April and arrived in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday, 7 April, to begin a weeklong visit to Europe that would also take him to Rome and Geneva.
