GENEVA, 22 November (UN Information Service) -- The Committee against Torture concluded today an autumn two-week session during which it reviewed reports of Spain, Egypt, Estonia, Cyprus and Venezuela on efforts to comply with the Convention against Torture.

The Secretary-General met today in The Hague, the Netherlands, with his Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alvaro de Soto, to take stock of efforts to solve the Cyprus problem.

On Tuesday afternoon, 19 November, the Secretary-General flew to Belgrade, where he met with Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica.
