Following is the address of Secretary-General Kofi Annan to the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, on its twenty-fifth anniversary, in Rome on 19 February:

Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in Rome from Brussels in the morning of Tuesday, 18 February.

FIRST-EVER EUROPEAN MEETING OF UN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES TASK FORCE
TO BE HELD IN GENEVA ON 21-22 FEBRUARY

GENEVA, 19 February (UN Information Service) -- The fourth meeting of the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Task Force, to be held on 21 and 22 February in Geneva, will focus on how best to link the ICT efforts by the private sector, civil society and the United Nations system in furthering ICT-for-development.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan departed New York on Sunday, 16 February, for Brussels, where he arrived, via Paris, the following morning.
