The Commission on the Status of Women will hold its forty-seventh session from 3 to 14 March at Headquarters, focusing on two thematic issues -- women and the media and violence against women.

The Deputy United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Bertrand Ramcharan, will undertake an official visit Central Asia from 2 to 16 March 2003, in follow up to the official visit to the region of Secretary-General Kofi Annan in October 2002.
