SUDAN high-level humanitarian MISSION continues


NEW YORK, 29 April (UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) –- The high-level humanitarian mission led by World Food Programme Executive Director James Morris continued today, breaking up into two teams in order to cover more of Darfur.

Nature-Rich Farmland Areas Need Greater Support,

COPENHAGEN/DUBLIN, 29 April (UNEP) -- The European Union will not reach the goal of halting species loss by 2010 if it does not do more to prevent the decline of its most nature-rich areas of farmland, the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) warned today.

The Security Council takes note of the outcome of the referenda held in Cyprus on 24 April 2004 on the Comprehensive Settlement on the Cyprus problem.  The Council respects the outcome of both referenda.
