SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON PEACEKEEPING TOLD THERE IS SIGNIFICANT ROOM
FOR IMPROVEMENT, AS IT OPENS CURRENT SESSION
The Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations this afternoon concluded its extraordinary session, adopting a series of proposals, recommendations and conclusions on the recommendations of the Panel on United Nations Peace Operations. The extraordinary session began on 30 October.
The United Nations must react promptly, regardless of the source of conflicts, to avoid the recurrence of massacres, the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations was told this morning as it concluded its general debate on all aspects of peacekeeping.
