In celebration of the 60^th anniversary of the United Nations, the Department of Public Information has organized a commemoration of the signing of the United Nations Charter, which took place in San Francisco on 26 June 1945. The event will start at 9:30 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall on Monday, 27 June 2005.

A new report by the United Nations University Institute for Advanced Studies, Bioprospecting of Genetic Resources in the Deep Seabed, a comprehensive review of scientific, legal and policy issues in deep seabed bioprospecting, will be launched on 9 June at a UNU briefing in Conference Room 6 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
