Secretary-General Appoints Maria Dotsenko of Ukraine as Public Information Department Representative in United Nations Armenia Office

Launch of First World Humanitarian Day to Be Held at United Nations Headquarters on 19 August

An exhibition of posters and photographs capturing images of humanitarian workers in action will be the background for the launch of the first World Humanitarian Day on Wednesday, 19 August at 10:30 a.m. in the Visitors Lobby, where Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Catherine Bragg will make statements.

The first World Humanitarian Day will be observed on Wednesday, 19 August, at United Nations Headquarters with a wreath-laying ceremony remembering the victims of the 2003 attack on the United Nations in Baghdad, followed by the opening of an exhibition of posters and photographs capturing the images of humanitarian workers in action.
