The UN Assistance Mission in Iraq has reported that at least 79 Iraqis have been killed — mostly civilians — and an estimated 1,400 people have been injured in May alone due to acts of terrorism and violence. The Special Representative for Iraq urged political leaders to work swiftly to form an inclusive Government.

The Security Council would tackle a wide range of topics in June through public meetings, open debates, and open and closed briefings, as well as resolutions, the organ’s President for the month said during a Headquarters press conference today.
