At a Headquarters press conference Thursday afternoon, the American rock and roll band Grand Funk Railroad presented a mock check for $30,000 to the Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing the amount they raised for humanitarian relief in that country from a sold-out concert in Detroit.

The adoption by the General Assembly of its draft resolution A/ES-10/L.1 on the illegal actions in occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory would help achieve the requirements for peace in the Middle East, Nasser Al-Kidwa, Permanent Observer for Palestine told a Headquarters press conference this afternoon.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Sadako Ogata, this afternoon said that the Alliance of Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Congo-Zaire had given UNHCR 60 days in which to repatriate the estimated 80,000 Rwandan refugees that recently disappeared from encampments south of Kisangani, Zaire.
