Thirty-five United Nations personnel — 25 civilians, nine peacekeepers and a military adviser — were killed in 2011, according to the Staff Union Committee for the Security and Independence of the International Civil Service. Four security guards working for the Organization were also killed.

Security Council 1988 Sanctions Committee Adds Four Individuals to Its Sanctions List

On 6 January 2012, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1988 (2011) approved the addition of the four entries specified below to the Committee’s List (the 1988 Sanctions List) of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 1988 (2011):
