Secretary-General Condemns Terrorist Bombing in Damascus,

 

Reiterates All Violence in Syria Must Stop

 

The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon:

The Secretary-General condemns the terrorist bombing which left many dead and injured today in the Syrian capital of Damascus.  He extends his sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims as well as to the Government and people of Syria.

The Secretary-General remains gravely concerned at the deteriorating situation in Syria, where thousands have lost their lives since March and people continue to be killed on a daily basis.  He reiterates that all violence is unacceptable and must stop.
