On Wednesday, 14 January, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon flew from India to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for an official visit to the country.

The new Permanent Representative of Hungary to the United Nations, Katalin Bogyay, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today.

The new Permanent Representative of Paraguay to the United Nations, Federico Alberto González, presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today.

On Thursday, 15 January, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon flew from Copán Ruinas in Honduras to San Salvador, El Salvador, to attend the twenty-third anniversary of the peace agreements that put an end to civil war in the country.

The Secretary-General deplores the heavy fighting between Ansarallah armed groups and Yemeni presidential guards throughout Sana’a, and calls on all sides to cease hostilities, exercise maximum restraint and take the steps needed to restore full authority to the legitimate Government institutions.
