The African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) is calling for restraint after a recent outbreak of violence in East Darfur ended in an attack in El Daein on Monday. The Operation also calls on all parties involved to refrain from acts that could further aggravate the situation.
Affirming its strong commitment to the full and timely implementation of the 2015 Addis Ababa Action Agenda on financing for development, the Economic and Social Council’s financing for development follow-up forum closed its inaugural session today with the consensus adoption of a brief set of intergovernmentally agreed conclusions and recommendations.
On 20 April 2016, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities approved the addition of the entries specified below to its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 2 of Security Council resolution 2253 (2015) adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
