On 17 February 2017, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2127 (2013) concerning the Central African Republic held informal consultations to consider the progress update of the Panel of Experts, submitted in pursuance of paragraph 23(d) of resolution 2262 (2016).

The Secretary-General welcomes donor pledges made today at the conclusion of the Oslo Humanitarian Conference on Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin, where 14 donors pledged $458 million for 2017.  The Conference also resulted in an agreement to address longer-term development needs and seek lasting solutions to the crisis.

Wrapping up the first part up its 2017 session this morning, the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations adopted a draft report outlining the results of its substantive work over recent weeks, including its decision to recommend 269 groups for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council.
