Maged Abdelfattah Abdelaziz, the new Permanent Observer for the League of Arab States at the United Nations, presented his letter of appointment to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.

A national of Egypt, Mr. Abdelaziz was the United Nations Special Adviser on Africa, having previously been his country’s Permanent Representative to the Organization from 2005 to 2012.
