In Lebanon, after a week-long suspension of services in Ein el Hilweh camp due to armed clashes, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has resumed operations. Health Centre II reopened today. UNRWA is also preparing to assess and clear remnants of war from affected zones.

In Niger, United Nations Humanitarian Air Service flights are grounded as air space in that country remains closed. While the Organization and its humanitarian partners will continue supporting vulnerable populations there, the $583 million humanitarian appeal for Niger is only 32 per cent funded.

The United Nations’ humanitarian partners have concluded an initial damage assessment following the recent operation by Israeli forces in the Jenin refugee camp. They report that 460 housing units were damaged, at least 40 families remain displaced and the camp remains largely without running water.
The cholera outbreak in Malawi is finally slowing down, thanks to the continued work of the national and international community. The United Nations and its partners provided more than 1,000,000 people with access to clean water, appropriate sanitation facilities and hygiene supplies.
In Syria, a United Nations cross-line convoy of 10 trucks carrying 220 metric tons of humanitarian assistance for 22,000 people crossed from Aleppo to Sarmada on 23 June. While an important complement, the cross-line operation cannot substitute cross-border aid that reaches 2.7 million Syrians each month.
