Resolution 1306 (2000) Adopted by Vote of 14-0-1 (Mali)
Acting under the provisions set out in Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, the Security Council this evening decided that all States shall prohibit the direct or indirect import of rough diamonds from Sierra Leone.
In accordance with the principle of alphabetical rotation, the following are the new Chairmen of the United Nations security bodies for July:

The Secretary-General's Special Representative for East Timor, Sergio Vieira de Mello, told the Security Council today that he expected elections for a constituent assembly to be held in the second half of next year.
The President of the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia asked the Security Council this morning to amend the Tribunal's Statute to facilitate the creation of a pool of judges who would be called upon when a case was trial- ready and who would try only that one case.
