From 21 to 25 October 2019, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1540 (2004), in cooperation with the Government of China, convened a training course for 1540 national points of contact in the Asia-Pacific region in Xiamen, China. The course was supported by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs with the financial support of the European Union.

On 11 October 2019, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida, and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities enacted the amendments specified with underline and strikethrough in the entry below on its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of Security Council resolution 2368 (2017), and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.
The 1540 Committee participated in a regional parliamentary seminar on engaging parliaments of the Pacific region in the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolution 1540 (2004), during 18-20 September 2019 in Wellington.
