SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS UN ADVANCE MISSION IN SUDAN UNTIL 24 MARCH,


UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1588 (2005)

 


Reaffirming its readiness to support the peace process in the Sudan, the Security Council this morning extended the mandate of the United Nations Advance Mission in Sudan (UNAMIS) until 24 March by unanimously adopting resolution 1588 (2005).

SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS

 

TO FORMER YUGOSLAVIA TRIBUNAL UNTIL 31 MARCH

 


The Security Council decided this afternoon to extend the deadline for nominations to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia until 31 March, thereby endorsing a suggestion by Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS ETHIOPIA/ERITREA MISSION UNTIL 15 SEPTEMBER,

 

UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTING RESOLUTION 1586

 


The Security Council today extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE) until 15 September 2005, and called on both countries to refrain from any threat of use of force against each other.
