United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres today announced the appointment of Mirjana Spoljaric Egger of Switzerland as Assistant Administrator, Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Following are UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ remarks at the wreath‑laying ceremony marking the fifteenth anniversary of the bombing of the United Nations Headquarters in Baghdad, in New York today:

United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres has appointed Samir Aldarabi as Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Manama, covering Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.  Mr. Aldarabi assumed his duties on 1 August 2018.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Marguerite El-Helou as Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut, covering Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait and Syria.  Ms. El-Helou assumed her new duties on 1 August 2018.
