The Secretary-General strongly condemns the suicide attack in Israel today that took at least two lives, and wounded many others. He is unwavering in his conviction that nothing can justify terror.

United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived late Friday, 8 July, in Khartoum, Sudan, from Edinburgh, Scotland, to attend the ceremony inaugurating Sudan’s new Government of National Unity.
United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan arrived in London from Tripoli, Libya, in the evening of Tuesday, 5 July 2005, to attend the summit of the Group of Eight (G-8) in Gleneagles, Scotland, later in the week.

The Secretary-General was shocked to hear of the brutal murder of Abdulkadir Yahya Ali in Mogadishu today. Mr. Yahya had devoted many years to foster peace and reconciliation in his country and was widely respected by his countrymen and by many in the international community.
