Following is UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s message, as delivered by Jeffry Feltman, Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, to the meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee, in New York, 23 September:
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon left Turin, Italy and arrived in Geneva, Switzerland in the morning of 9 September.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, accompanied by Madam Ban Soon-taek, left New York on Wednesday evening, 5 September, and arrived in Turin, Italy, the following afternoon.
Amid warnings by a new United Nations report that significant development gains worldwide risked backsliding due to the slowdown in providing aid, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called today for a stronger global partnership to advance progress towards poverty eradication, sustainable growth and other development targets that world leaders had pledged to achieve by 2015.
