GENEVA, 27 September (UN Information Service) -- The Governing Council of the United Nations Compensation Commission will hold its thirty-third session from 28 to 30 September under the Presidency of Ambassador Hans J. Heinemann (Netherlands).
The Sixth Committee (Legal), at an organizational meeting this morning, elected its Vice-Chairmen and Rapporteur, and adopted a programme of work for the current session of the General Assembly.
Thirty speakers addressed the General Assembly this afternoon as it continued its two-day special session to review progress achieved in implementing the Programme of Action adopted at the Global Conference on the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (Barbados, 1994).
