Following are the remarks of Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the dinner with Macalaster trustees and friends, New York, 9 October 2002:

I am very happy to see you all at the United Nations this evening.  For me, seeing friends from Macalester always feels a bit like seeing family -– and it’s even nicer when family members come to visit in one’s own house.

The Secretary-General has taken note of the judgment delivered today by the International Court of Justice on the Bakassi border dispute between Cameroon and Nigeria.
