SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS UN MISSION IN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO UNTIL 30 JULY

Resolution 1489 (2003) Adopted Unanimously

The Security Council this morning decided to extend the mandate of the United Nations Organization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC), which was to expire on 30 June, until 30 July.

SECURITY COUNCIL EXTENDS DISENGAGEMENT FORCE MONITORING

ISRAEL-SYRIA CEASEFIRE UNTIL 31 DECEMBER

The Security Council this morning renewed the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) for a further six months, until 31 December.  The Force has supervised the ceasefire and disengagement between Israel and Syria since 1974.
