Following is today’s press statement on the Sudan by Security Council President Andrey Denisov (Russian Federation):


On 24 August, members of the Security Council received a briefing from Assistant Secretary-General, Tuliameni Kalomoh, on the situation in the Darfur region of Sudan.

United Nations Drugs and Crime Office to Provide Assistance


to Pakistan’s Intelligence Agencies

VIENNA, 23 August (UN Information Service) -- The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control of Pakistan have signed an agreement on a new technical assistance project to enhance the intelligence capacity of key law-enforcement agencies in Pakistan.
