Following are UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s remarks at the “Speaking Colours” exhibition, co-sponsored by Israel and Argentina on the occasion of the seventh session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day, in New York today:

A total of 60 college and university students from 26 countries have been invited to attend a youth forum at United Nations Headquarters on 27 June to discuss the role of multilingualism in a globalized world. They are winners of an international essay contest organized by the ELS Educational Services, Inc., and United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) of the world body’s Department of Public Information.

A total of 15 non-governmental organizations were approved for association with the United Nations Department of Public Information during the 6 June meeting of the Department’s Committee for Association in New York, bringing to 1,380 the number of such groups associated with the Department in the area of communications and information outreach.
