Sixty-seven nuclear-weapon tests were carried out in the Marshall Islands over 12 years without the population knowing the true extent of personal injuries and environmental damage caused by the nuclear blasts, the Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) was told this afternoon as it began its consideration of the effects of atomic radiation.
