Economic and Social Council Concludes Management Segment, Adopting Texts Covering Support for Haiti, United Nations Staff College, Indigenous Peoples Forum

The Economic and Social Council concluded its 2021 Management Segment today, adopting a series of texts forwarded by its subsidiary bodies which covered topics from the rights of indigenous peoples and support for Haiti, to the learning portfolios of venerated United Nations training and training institutions, while also reviewing reports on food security and financing for development.

Resolutions on Gender Inequality, Role of Digital Technologies among Texts Adopted as Economic and Social Council Commences Its Management Session

Beginning its 2021 Management Segment today, the Economic and Social Council adopted eight resolutions and eight decisions while considering several reports on various topics, many of which were sensitive to COVID-19’s unprecedented impact on the United Nations work around the world.

The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) concluded its 2021 regular session today, adopting a report that contains the results of its recent substantive work, including its decision to recommend 432 groups for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council.

Non-Governmental Organizations Committee Takes Note of More Than 600 Quadrennial Reports, Sets June Date for Approving Work, Concluding Session

The Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, suspending the substantive part of its 2021 regular session today, postponed taking action on 6 entities’ request for special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, and took note of more than 600 new quadrennial reports, postponing consideration of another 14 reports.
