United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Fatoumata Ndiaye of Senegal as Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

At its fifty-fourth meeting, on 8 May 2015, the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict agreed, in connection with the examination of the first report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict in South Sudan (S/2014/884), to address the following message to all parties to the armed conflict in South Sudan, in particular the SPLA, the SPLA-IO and armed groups operating in their support such as the White Army, through a public statement by the Chair of the Working Group:

At its 51^st meeting, on 26 November, the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict agreed, in connection with the examination of the first report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic (S/2014/31), to address the following message to all parties to the armed conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic through a public statement by its Chair:

At its 50^th meeting, on 19 September 2014, the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict agreed, in connection with the examination of the fifth report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (S/2014/453), to address the following message through a public statement issued by the Chair of the Working Group:

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Johanna (Yoka) Brandt, a Dutch national, as Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). She will succeed Hilde Frafjord Johnson, who was appointed Special Representative of the Secretary-General for South Sudan.
